A place to pause, connect, and belong.
Under the Canopy is a warm, welcoming community space where you can settle in with a cuppa, enjoy biscuits and good company, and take a gentle breather from the busyness of life. Whether you fancy a chat, prefer to listen, or simply want to be around others, you’re welcome exactly as you are.
There’s no pressure to share your story or explain yourself — you choose how you take part. You can move through the space at your own pace, dipping into simple crafts, colouring, conversation corners, reflective prompts, or just sitting quietly with your brew. Facilitators are on hand if you’d like to ask questions, share ideas, or explore local activities and support.
Each gathering offers:
A warm welcome
Tea, coffee, biscuits, and soft refreshments
Friendly conversation and connection
A safe, inclusive, non‑judgemental space
Optional wellbeing activities and community information
The freedom to participate in your own way
Under the Canopy is a soft place to land — a space held with care, confidentiality, and compassion. All emotions are welcome. All parts of you are welcome. Come as you are, and leave with whatever the morning offers: ease, connection, courage, or simply a moment to breathe.
The Branches Framework for our Under the Canopy Spaces
-
When you arrive, you’ll be greeted with a warm welcome and invited to settle in with a cuppa. We begin gently — giving everyone a moment to arrive, breathe, and find their place in the space.
There’s a simple sign‑in when you come through the door. This helps us understand how our spaces are being used and supports us to respond to attendance and community needs.
Once everyone’s settled, we have a soft check‑in — nothing pressured, nothing formal. Just a chance to connect, share how you’re arriving today, or simply listen. It’s a gentle start to our time together, held with care and ease.
-
After our welcome and check‑in, you’re invited to explore whatever feels right for you. The activities change from month to month, but they’re always simple, gentle, and designed to help you settle, connect, and breathe a little easier.
You might find:
Gentle crafts
Colouring and creative play
Quiet conversation spaces
Reflective prompts
Gentle wellbeing tasters
Or simply a cosy corner to sit with your brew
Nothing is pressured and nothing is expected. You choose what you join, how you take part, and whether you want company or quiet. These activities are here to offer comfort, connection, and a sense of ease — a soft place to land for a little while.
-
Once you’re settled, you’re welcome to move through the space in whatever way feels good for you. There’s tea, coffee, cake, and biscuits to enjoy, and plenty of room to wander, pause, chat, or simply sit with your brew.
You can dip into gentle activities, join a conversation, share ideas, ask facilitators questions, or just catch up with familiar faces. Everything happens at your pace — there’s no pressure to join in and no expectation to do anything in particular.
Some people explore every corner of the room. Some stay with one activity. Some sit quietly and take a moment for themselves.
All of it is welcome. All of it is enough.
Under the Canopy is a soft, open space where you can do as much or as little as you want, held with warmth, ease, and choice.
-
As our time together draws to a close, we gather for a gentle check‑out — a soft moment to pause and notice what we’re taking with us. There’s no pressure to share; some people speak, some simply listen, and all of it is welcome.
We might reflect on:
a feeling that’s shifted
a conversation that landed
a small moment of ease
something learned, remembered, or reclaimed
or simply the comfort of being together
This closing circle helps us settle the energy of the space and honour whatever the day has offered. When we’re ready, we close the space with warmth and gratitude, letting everyone leave in their own time and in their own way.
Under the Canopy ends gently — with a sense of steadiness, connection, and something quietly carried forward.
-
Under the Canopy is a soft, welcoming space where you can simply be yourself.
When you arrive, you’ll be met with warmth, a friendly hello, and the invitation to settle in at your own pace. You’re welcome to grab a tea, coffee, juice, cake, or biscuits and take a moment to arrive in whatever way feels right for you.
We always provide gluten‑free and dairy‑free options, and these are kept separate to reduce the risk of cross‑contamination.
When we offer gluten‑free or dairy‑free foods, they are shop‑bought rather than homemade to help keep things as safe as possible.
If you have any other dietary requirements or allergies, please get in touch so we can discuss them with you.
Because our venue is a multi‑use community space, we cannot guarantee that the environment or refreshments are completely allergen‑free.
Participants remain responsible for their own wellbeing, including any food or drink choices they make.
Everything in this space is held with care and confidentiality. You don’t have to share anything you don’t want to, and you’re free to be exactly as you are — quiet, chatty, emotional, curious, tired, hopeful, or unsure.
All emotions are welcome here.
All parts of you are welcome here.
You can move through the room gently, choosing what feels right: conversation, crafts, colouring, asking facilitators questions, sharing ideas, or simply sitting with your brew and taking a breath. There’s no pressure and no expectation — just support, choice, and ease.
Many people find courage here: the courage to speak, to rest, to connect, or simply to show up as themselves. Whatever you bring, and whatever you take away, you’ll be held with compassion and respect.
Under the Canopy is a space to land, to soften, and to feel part of something steady and human.
